Tuhfa exists to sell original work by Egyptian artists, properly and without drama. This page sets out how we work together.

Tuhfa is operated by Filthy Good Tech., at our studio in Cairo, Egypt.
You can apply to sell on Tuhfa if you are an artist based in Egypt, at least 18 years old, and selling original work that you made yourself.
We review every application and we don't accept everyone. Acceptance is at our discretion and is not a judgement of your work; sometimes it's about fit, timing, or what we already have on the site.
Only original work that you made and own. No prints, no reproductions, no editions presented as unique pieces, and nothing made by anyone else.
Everything you state about a piece must be accurate: medium, dimensions, year, and condition. Photographs must show the actual work, in reasonable light, without filters or edits that change how it looks.
If a piece is part of a limited edition, or is a reproduction of your own original, it must be described as such.
Keep your listings current. If a piece sells elsewhere, mark it as sold on Tuhfa the same day. A collector buying a piece you no longer have is the fastest way to lose a relationship with us.
You set your own prices. We don't price your work and we won't ask you to lower it. If you want our view we'll give it honestly, but the number is yours.
When you enter a price, the site shows you what you will receive. There is no arithmetic to do and no surprise at payout.
Sell in galleries, at markets, on Instagram, or directly from your studio. Listing on Tuhfa does not restrict you in any way, and we do not ask for exclusivity.
The only thing we ask is that your Tuhfa listings stay accurate.
Tuhfa takes a commission on each sale. The current rate is shown in your artist dashboard before you list anything, and on the Sell your art page.
Delivery charges are excluded from commission entirely. They are charged separately to the collector and never reduce your share.
Our commission covers the platform, payment processing, packing materials and labour, certificate production, delivery coordination, collector support, returns handling, marketing, and the cost of covering losses when something goes wrong in transit.
If we ever change the rate, we will tell you in advance, and the change will not affect any sale already in progress.
We pack every piece ourselves, using materials chosen for the medium and size, and we choose the delivery method according to the value and fragility of the work. We never transport original artwork by motorcycle or bicycle.
Once a piece leaves our office it is our responsibility. If it is lost or damaged in transit, that is our cost, not yours, and you are still paid.
After delivery, the collector has a short inspection window. The current period is stated in your dashboard and on the collector's order confirmation.
Once that window closes without an issue being raised, the sale is final and your payment is released. Payment timing after that point is stated in your dashboard.
We pay to the bank account or Instapay number on your artist profile. Keeping those details accurate is your responsibility.
Damage in transit, or loss. Our cost. You are paid in full.
The collector changes their mind within the inspection window. The sale does not complete and you are not paid for it, because it did not happen. The piece is returned to our office at the collector's cost, we inspect it, and it goes back onto your listings.
The piece was not as described. If a work materially differs from its listing (wrong medium, wrong dimensions, wrong year, not original, or not yours), the sale is void and you are not paid for it.
This is the one obligation we cannot be relaxed about, because every collector who buys through Tuhfa is trusting that what arrives is what the page said it was. That guarantee is the entire product, for you as much as for us.
You confirm, for every piece you list, that it is original, that you made it, that you own it and are free to sell it, and that everything stated about it is true.
If a piece is later shown not to be authentic, not original, not yours, or materially different from its listing, the sale is void whenever that comes to light. You will be required to return the payment in full, and the collector's refund and the cost of returning the work are your responsibility. There is no time limit on this.
If you list your own work and describe it honestly, this clause will never apply to you.
You retain full copyright in everything you make. Selling a piece through Tuhfa transfers the physical artwork to the collector and nothing else. The collector does not acquire reproduction rights, and we tell them so in the collector terms.
By listing with us, you give Tuhfa a non-exclusive licence to use images of your work and your name, biography, and portrait to promote your work and the platform, on the site, on social media, in advertising, and in press. This licence costs nothing, is not exclusive, and does not let us reproduce or sell your work in any other form.
If you leave Tuhfa, we will stop using your images in new marketing. Material already published (past posts, press coverage, archived pages) may remain.
Communication with collectors runs through Tuhfa while a sale is in progress. This protects the transaction, not our position; it is not there to keep you away from people who love your work.
Once a sale has completed, the collector is yours to know. If they commission you directly afterwards, that work is yours and we do not take a share of it.
What we do ask is that you don't take a sale that started on Tuhfa off the platform to avoid commission. That's the one line.
We are building a commissions feature for a later phase of the site. It will be optional, it will have its own terms, and we will show them to you before it launches.
You can leave at any time, with no notice period and no penalty. Any sale already in progress is completed under these terms, and that's it.
We may suspend or remove an artist account where work is not original, listings are materially inaccurate, sold work is left listed, or a sale is deliberately taken off-platform to avoid commission.
We may update this page. If we change anything that affects what you earn or when you are paid, we will tell you in advance, and it will not apply to a sale already in progress.
These terms are governed by Egyptian law.
