The In-Between is an original figurative sculpture that was part of a bigger project called UTOPIA . Utopia is a sculptural exploration of the paradox within the human pursuit of an ideal world. Deviation explores the gradual loss of the human self in the pursuit of an imagined ideal. The figure appears caught in a state of transformation, its familiar human form becoming increasingly distorted and uncertain. Rather than becoming something greater, the body seems to be coming undone — losing its natural proportions and its sense of identity in the process. The work reflects on the paradox of perfection: when the desire to become an idealized version of ourselves becomes too powerful, we may move further away from who we are. within the utopian project - deviation represents a stage in which the pursuit of the ideal no longer transforms the human being into something better, but gradually takes away what makes them human.
