Acrylic on Recycled cardboard from the box i received my first horse care box from my coach.
Therefore it has extreme sentimental meaning.
My story for this painting is that when i got my first horse it was like a dream come true everything ive ever wanted. Little did i know that after this golden platter of ideas and opportunities fed to me by my old coach was the start to my downfall in this sport. First i got my first ever zues. A week later he falls on me and breaks my leg. I wait for 5 months to be able to ride again. I start riding him again with fear what i once dreamed of has now became a nightmare and something i run away from and dread to go to training everyday after it used to be my comfort. But this was just the start of the disasters that came after. Soon i got a new horse named stitch i was comfortable with him and was happy. But that only lasted for a while. Later he broke his leg which meant he might be put down but thankfully it was only a fracture. Only more problems came after that. So i painted this painting to show that not what we wanted is always what we need even the most desired gifts can carry unseen burdens.. Receiving a horse felt like being handed a golden platter filled with opportunity, excitement, and promise. The vibrant patterns symbolize the expectations and imagined possibilities I eagerly embraced. Yet beneath that beauty existed unseen darkness. The surrounding red and textured black areas represent the emotional strain and hidden struggles that emerged over time. What once felt purely magical became layered with responsibility and pressure.
