لماذا قررتُ إعادة رسم هذه اللوحة تحديداً؟ حسناً، للأمر قصة صغيرة؛ فبينما كنت طالباً في كلية الفنون، رأيت لوحة "شراء عبد" للفنان جيروم لأول مرة، ووقعت في حبها. وماذا حدث بعد ذلك؟ نعم، قررتُ إعادة رسمها! هرعتُ لإحضار أدواتي وبدأت العمل، لكنني واجهت مشكلة كبيرة: لم أستطع إنجازها. ربما كان الأمر بالغ الصعوبة من كل جانب؛ تماماً كشعور المقاومة الذي يراودك وأنت تؤدي تمرين الضغط الأخير في النادي الرياضي في يومٍ سيئ. شعرت بإحباط شديد، فألقيتُ بفرشاتي جانباً وأنهيت التجربة... لكن يبدو أن الحلم لم ينتهِ؛ فقد ظلّت الرغبة كامنة في أعماق قلبي. وبعد سنوات، وبعد أن امتلكت الأدوات والمهارات اللازمة، عاودتني الفكرة مجدداً؛ فقررت خوض التجربة مرة أخرى، ولكن هذه المرة بثقة وحماس أكبر—تماماً كشعور أداء أول تمرين ضغط في يومٍ رائع! نعم، كان الأمر مبهجاً للغاية (هل ابتسمتَ الآن؟ آمل ذلك). على أية حال، ها هي اللوحة أمامكم، استمتعوا بها! Why did I decide to reproduced this particular painting ? Well, this is have a little story, when I was a student in my art school I saw this painting " Purchase of slave " by Gerome, for the first time and I fall in love with it, next step guess what ? Yes, I chose to reproduce it, so I run to my tools and I started to work, then I faced a big problem (I just can't do it), or maybe it is incredibly hard in every aspects in the work process, you know, like when you do your last push up in the gym in a bad day, Yes it was that kind of hard feeling of resisting, so I just drop my brush down with a big frustration and ended the experiment, but not the dream I guess, because when I think about it right now I can see that I kept the desire somewhere in my heart, because what happened after that is years later and one by one after I owned my education tools it jumped in my mind again to reproduce this painting, so I respond to the idea and I give it a new try but this time with more confidence and enthusiasm, you know, like when you do your first push up in the gym in a good day, Yes it was that joyous, (Did you smiled right now ? hope so), anyway here it is, enjoy it .
